The Great Indian Poverty and its serious effects.

Namaste.
Poverty is an issue that affects billions of people around the world, yet most of us are familiar with very few examples of what poverty actually looks like. One nation where poverty has been particularly pervasive in recent years is India, but the country has made great strides in reducing its overall poverty level and continues to be a developing country.
According to World Poverty Clock in 2022, roughly 6% or 83,068,597 (83 million) of the population are living in poverty. It is estimated that 150-199 million additional people will fall into poverty at the end of 2022. Still, India is no longer the country with the most extreme poverty, states the Brookings report. As per the real-time data from World Poverty Clock, 0.6 Indians are escaping extreme poverty every minute. In India, the wealth of 16 people is equal to the wealth of 600 million people.
This makes the Indian subcontinent one of the poorest countries in the world; women and children, suffer most.
Poverty in India impacts children, families and individuals in a variety of different ways through:
High infant mortality
Malnutrition
Child labour
Lack of education
Child marriage
Exploitation of People
HIV / AIDS
Eradication of poverty India can be done in a few ways:
Education. Illiteracy is the biggest reason behind poverty in India. Illiterate people living in rural areas, villages and small towns are the most vulnerable to unemployment. More than 51% of the rural population earns from casual labour. Education is necessary to enhance the farm productivity and overall income. Educated people can also find new jobs, which can help them overcome poverty. As well, Girl child education is also important for the society.
Agriculture. Rapid rate of growth of agriculture production will help to remove urban as well as rural poverty. Agriculture should be mechanized and modernized.
Infrastructure. India’s poverty crisis also arises from the dearth of basic infrastructure like schools, hospitals, toilets, electricity and non-polluting heating options. The government must look to invest in the infrastructure of the country, which can go a long way and help build an environment suitable for enterprise development and income generation.
Employment. By improving social infrastructure and job opportunities in rural areas, migration to urban areas can be decreased, and thus urban poverty can also be decreased.
Population Control. Population in India has been increasing rapidly, growth rate is 1.8%. For removal of poverty the growth rate of population should be lowered.
These are a few socio-economic steps taken to improve the financial status of millions of households across the country.
