Hey Women, This One's For You!

To all the Women who are lacking freedom and suffering violence against them.

Namaste, What does Independence Day mean to us as a women? Does India got freedom after almost 200-year british rule mean we all are independent in real?

What is Freedom?

“Freedom literally means the power or right to act, speak, or think as one wants.”

Being a woman, I want freedom for women to make choices of their own without any repercussions that comes with them. The real independence comes from living the way we want to, without fear from being judged, sexually harrassed, disappointing the loved ones and so forth.

I also feel women should get economical independence to make own financial decisions & mistakes. All decisions should root from us which I think a pretty good thing to deal.

Does Harassment happen in India?

“In 2019, India ranked highest in the list of dangerous countries for women.”

No one in this world deserves to go through any type of harrassment, whether man or woman. People who get offended are not the "victims" but "survivors". The way men & women brought up in India strongly influence their behaviors. This comes from lack of knowledge on Gender Equality. But whatever maybe the reason, healing is one of the way to settle down your mental health.

Healing Tips

Accept the situation. This means validating your experience. what happened really doesn't change when you don't want to happen.

Share with someone. It always helps you share the load you have in your mind.

Write about it. Sometimes journaling the bad experiences are helpful to your mental hygiene.

Don't blame yourslef. What happened to you was not your fault and you have no control on the other person. It will slow your healing.

Whoever the accused, fight them bravely regardless of anyone, until they will experience the same agony you've dealt with.

I dream of an ideal world where women are respected for who they are. That day is the real independence for all the women.
